FREE: Join the Miami Science Museum for once-in-a-lifetime learning experience. Digital WAVE: Warming Winds and Water is a fun, informal way for you to investigate climate change and its impacts on South Florida. Find out about careers in climate science as you develop design and communication skills to help prepare you for a wide range of future careers. Interview local climate scientists, visit research labs, and explore beaches and coral reefs. Help build a 3D virtual exhibit in ‘Second Life’ to share what you have learned with other teens from around the world. Session I June 14-25 or Session II August 9-20. World Famous Primatologist Visits Ponce! |

Dr. Sian Evans from Monkey Jungle, and the Director of the DuMond Conservancy for Primates and Tropical Forests Inc., made an excellent presentation on primates and their diets. She is now recruiting female students interested in Science (View Dr. Evans with Mr. Machado's Students - click here) to take advantage of a grant from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to further female participation in Science fields of study. ‘Entombed – My True Story: How Forty-five Jews Lived Underground and Survived the Holocaust’ Author Bernard Mayer visits Ponce. |

As an IBMYP Unit culminating activity, author Bernard Mayer visited Ponce to share with students and answer questions about his experiences. Mr. Mayer was very impressed with the student’s knowledge and presentations. Mr. Mayer expressed that He had never been to a school with such energy, and he could not believe all the projects the teachers and the students completed (Watch a video produced by students – Click Here).
